Today is the absolute final day to order from the Holiday catalogue if you’ve been eyeing off stuff in there. (Click the SHOP NOW button to visit my Online Store) But the good thing about endings is that it also means beginnings….. and starting tomorrow we have the brand new Occasions catalogue AND the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) promotion launching. So we really won’t get much time to be sad! I love that there is always something exciting and new happening with Stampin’Up!
So I thought you might like to see one last sneak peek before it all goes live tomorrow…. the stamp set I am playing with today is called “Waterfront”. I really like it because its a bit different to a lot of our other sets, and I love that this is one of those real stamping sets. By that I mean that you don’t need a lot else going on for your stamping to look fabulous. I’ve had a bit of a play with this set now and made a few cards, but I’ve decided so far that I like best the ones that are relatively monotone. For this card I chose mostly blues (Night of Navy and Marina Mist) although of course the sun sets it all off quite beautifully. I did however have to add a few birds to my card…. and here’s my confession….. sometimes when you make a boo-boo the best thing you can do is add something to make it look like you meant to do that. In this case I had somehow managed to get a smudge of ink at the top of my piece that I didnt want…. So I grabbed my High Tide set which has those fabulous birds, and added them in. Thats when I decided that I really like those birds in this pic!
Sometimes little mistakes can actually enhance the end result… a bit like life actually 🙂
In classes I like to say… “Its not a mistake, its an embellishment opportunity”

LOvely card! Did you use watercolour paper? It seems there a light wash on your card. Cheers! Cyndi
Hi Cyndi…. No I used Shimmery White cardstock… it is a more sturdy paper than Whisper White or Very Vanilla, and even though it doesn't hold as much water as Watercolour paper, it still holds a wash quite well. I used an Aqua painter to apply the wash before I began to stamp. Hope that answers your question. 🙂
